let’s talk instagram

INSTAGRAM CAN FEEL OVERWHELMING AND A BRAIN FUCK BECAUSE OF ALL THE LEVELS YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE TO BE A GOOD USER.

THERE’S STATIC POSTS, CAROUSEL POSTS, HIGHLIGHTS, STORIES AND REELS. IT FEELS LIKE A FULL TIME JOB SOMETIMES, AM I RIGHT?

We hear you - yep, even those at the back - we see you! 👋🏻

So we’ve popped together 5 ideas on how to create Reels quickly, easily and without too much time, but will still be effective across Insta.

These are tried and tested by us, as always. Putting our money where our mouth is…

  1. Day in Your Life

Film a short clip, remember that the first 3 seconds are the most CRUCIAL, of you doing chores, activities, working; anything that shows movement but also the “genuine & authentic self”. Add trending music. Bingo.

  2. Answer an FAQ

Is there one question that always pops up? Maybe you get asked the same thing constantly? Is there a Unique Selling Point (USP) to your product or service you can chat about or show off?

Even something as radical as postage times or delivery service - anything that will offer information to your customer and give them some beef to chew on.

  3. Show Off Your Product

REALLY show off your products or service - show it in actual use. If you have physical products, show real hands in the real clip, this gives scale and size to a watching customer. If you are service based, show yourself at your desk, working with clients, out and about visiting clients, walking to your meeting, writing in your notebook what tasks you have to do.

  4. Be Fun & Relatable

So if your business is a serious one, this is still doable but be mindful of what topic you choose. But for sure, share things that are relatable; I recently shared a clip of me forgetting the shopping bags (again!) at the checkout. But the friendly guys serving me, allowed me to use the basket to take to the car, pack my bags and return the basket. Now it wasn't mind blowing content, but it was relatable. Everyone has juggled the shopping to the car because they’ve forgot the bags, haven’t they?! For extra points, I tagged the local supermarket in to the post too - gaining

extra views from their followers too 😜

  5. Story Telling

Usually a business has started because of a problem that the business owner was trying to solve or because of something the business owner enjoyed. Whatever the reason you started the business, tell that story; that one that made you go, yep, I’m doing this.

People are nosey, they are always interested in the real person behind the business, it’s totally normal for us humans to be inquisitive. Share your story, show your journey. I can bank on that it will be one of your highest performing posts.
